Klopp: Liverpool won't be signing Insigne
So there you have it: Liverpool will not be signing Napoli striker Lorenzo Insigne, straight from the manager himself.
Rumours had been growing in intensity and frequency that Liverpool were about to make a bid, or would make one in the summer, for the 27 year old Italian international.
So when Klopp was asked today about the club's summer transfer plans and about Insigne in particular, he said: "We will not sign Lorenzo Insigne.
"He’s a very good player but I guess he has a long-term contract at Napoli and we will not even try it. That’s all I can say about this."
Insigne is a forward that Liverpool have seemingly been linked to since the day he was conceived, but we've never known of a concrete bid for the player, despite interest.
But it won't stop the transfer rumours continuing, particularly as we've just noticed that the Mirror has run a story linking us to him in the last hour.
