Klopp eager to get Liverpool's Premier League season started
Now that that major irritant (the summer transfer window) has finally passed, Liverpool are now keen to get started on the new season.
Nobody more so than Jurgen Klopp. The German again faced a number of transfer related questions during his pre-match press conference and was giving little away.
But once those questions were swatted, he moved onto the important matters of the first game of the season on Friday night.
Speaking to the assembled press prior to the match today, he said: "For them (Norwich) Championship winning is like Champions League winning so long ago you cannot build on that but both teams have reasons to be confident.
"You need a few games from last season as well and that is what we did they are special for a Championship team. Clear structure and clear plan and little coincidence in the games that everything looks properly planned and they have all my respect.
"These fixtures are always like the proper banana skins and it is made for something like that if you're not aware of it. If you are not 100 per cent in a game like this you will slip, they are too good for that they are too good a team."
Despite the huge disappointment from many Liverpool fans over our non-existent work in this year's summer transfer market, Klopp has urged Liverpool fans to get back to backing the team tomorrow night.
He went on: "With the effort and desire we show and we have to be from the start we have to be angry and greedy again all these things. We have to think it is football.
"We can focus on football and the atmosphere will be good because it is a while ago since we played at Anfield. Our crowd is waiting for us and we are waiting for our fans. The welcome will be loud and emotional, 'You'll Never Walk Alone'.
"But then with the first whistle we have to be in the season and in the game. All of us, just be on your toes like in the best game.
"I am a supporter as well, so as the season starts we have to be at 100 per cent and create an atmosphere only Anfield can create. Don't think about the name of the opponents celebrate that Champions League win and we will show we are ready to go again."
