Henderson says the return of Oxlade-Chamberlain boosts whole squad
It's another 6-8 weeks now, not doubt, until we see the official return of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain but it's as eagerly anticipated as comebacks get.
The 24 year old is massively popular on Merseyside already, despite having played less than 50 matches for the Reds.
During his first season, prior to his lengthy spell on the sidelines, he managed 5 goals and 8 assists up to April and offered Liverpool that drive from midfield that we'd missed since Gerrard's retirement.
And the captain has expressed that his return to training last week was a massive boost to the squad as a whole. Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com, Henderson said: "It was obviously a massive moment for everyone but [especially] for him to be back from a bad injury. He has been out for a while now and I’m sure he’s been thinking about that moment for a long time.m.
"It was great to have him back. He is a great character around the lads and he is obviously a fantastic player, so to have him back within the squad was a big plus for us.
"Hopefully over the next few weeks he can keep progressing and build his fitness up. Who knows, hopefully he can get some minutes before the end of the season – that would be a huge boost for the team."
