Gary Lineker reckons Trent will be one of England's greatest ever players
Updated: Feb 26
At the minute you'd be hard-pressed to find any Reds that would disagree, but it's disappointing how hyperbole has become almost a national past-time.
That is, of course, after Gary Lineker sang the praises of Trent Alexander-Arnold again last night, declaring on Twitter:
The reason? For the 2nd season in a row Trent clocked up 12 assists in the Premier League, only he's done it with 11 games to spare this season.
Of course, he's achieved far greater things than that, such as appearing in two Champions League finals (winning one), winning the World Club Cup and is now part of a team that is just 12 points from winning the title for the first time in 30 years.
But it's no small achievement, clocking up 24 assists in the last 65 league games. As a full-back. It's actually 30 across the last two full seasons. Incredible.
At the tender age of 21, and with at least a decade or more left at the top level, the young Scouser has the world at his feet, quite literally during most matches.
