Ferdinand: Thiago would be a 'dream' signing for Liverpool
After a man of the match winning display in Bayern Munich's demolition of Chelsea last night, in their Champions League semi-final, Thiago is in high demand once again.
The 29 year old Spanish midfielder was instrumental in the German giants 7-1 victory over two legs, but particularly last night when he dominated the London-side's midfield.
He was taken off with just under 20 minutes remaining, no doubt to save him for the quarter-finals when he will be a crucial player for them.
Liverpool fans were understandably pleading with FSG and Jurgen Klopp to ensure the player is signed up, before one of our rivals decide to snatch him from our grasp. And at his reported fee of £27 million, it'd be a snip for a player of his outstanding quality.
But Rio Ferdinand, following the match on BT Sport last night, said that he's the one thing that Liverpool are missing, and that we shouldn't hesitate to get him signed up. He said: "He would be a great signing, he is a conductor.
"He is somebody who controls the tempo of the game. He has got wing mirrors, he can see behind him, he can see all angles and every pass in the game.
"He is an intelligent player and speaks the language which is an important part of it.
"He would be a dream for Liverpool, he is the type of player they haven't got."
