Dutch forward 'touts' himself to Liverpool
All eyes were on Timo Werner and Jadon Sancho this afternoon, with the return of the Bundesliga the focus of most fan's attentions.
Sancho, unfortunately, only made the bench for Dortmund, coming on in the final minutes of their 4-nil home victory over Schalke 04.
Werner started in his team's 1-1 draw, having few chances but still managing to impress. He is thought by most to be the sole focus of LFC's transfer intentions.
But another Bundesliga forward has been offering his services to Liverpool, stating that it's a 'very special' place that he'd love to play.
Wout Weghorst is his name, and he plays for Wolfsburg in the German top division, where he's very much gone under most people's radars.
Scoring 15 goals, with 5 assists, in all competitions, he's joint 5th highest goalscorer in the Bundesliga. At 27, he's approaching his peak. He's tall, athletic and a big lad, so would give us a different option.
But I seriously doubt he's on our own radar. Regardless, he had this to say to DAZN (via Goal): "I always found Liverpool very special.
"I still get goosebumps from ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’.
"There are other great English clubs too, and I always liked Milan because so many Dutch played there.
"I am ambitious and want to get ahead - maybe at some point play at another club, whether in Germany or in England.
"But at the moment it is still far away. I feel good and try to achieve the maximum here."
