Confirmed: Liverpool to welcome up to 2000 fans back to Anfield in December
In some quite important breaking news for the city of Liverpool this morning, the government has announced that the city will be moved to Tier 2 of restrictions.
After what has seemed a long lifetime of Covid restrictions and mass testing for the city, it's been very heartening to see Scousers pulling together and looking out for each other.
And while the Tier 2 restrictions will still be quite difficult, it does mean that both city clubs will be allowed to welcome fans back into the stadiums for the first time since March.
For Liverpool, according to Sky Sports, that means up to 2000 fans will potentially be allowed back inside Anfield on December 5th for the visit of Wolves.
It's no doubt going to be a small boost to the club and players, having fans back in the ground for the first time in almost 10 months.
But it'll be a boost for fans too, many of whom build their week around the match and it'll feel like Christmas has come early for those of us lucky enough to be chosen to return.
