Carragher still backing Man City over Liverpool for Premier League
The team may be sitting two points clear at the top of the Premier League after 4 games but former Liverpool defender, Jamie Carragher, believes that City are the favourites.
It's been an impressive start from Liverpool, picking up maximum points along the way, and have only really looked as good as last season for short periods on a couple of occasions.
Man City meanwhile, have been at their usual level but still dropped points at home to Spurs. Carragher, though, doesn't believe that that will have any bearing on the destination of the league again.
Speaking on Sky Sports after Vincent Kompany's testimonial last night, Carragher said: "I think it's a bit early yet. I think we've got to probably wait until Christmas.
"I do feel around about Christmas time Liverpool and City will have a substantial gap and it looks like there's a little bit of a gap at this moment.
"But I still think City are favourites and are the best team in the Premier League at this moment because they won the Premier League and they proved that last season.
"So, I think it's still on Liverpool to overtake City but they're more than capable."
Man City will take on Norwich on Saturday night this week, whilst Liverpool play first this weekend as Newcastle arrive at Anfield on Saturday morning.
