Barcelona looking to sign Moreno, say reports
According to some strange news this morning Liverpool's Alberto Moreno could well find himself replacing one elite club with another this summer, with the Spaniard apparently all set to sign a 2-year deal at the Catalan side.
Moreno's contract will expire this summer and Liverpool have no interest in renewing it, and while the reports of a move to Lazio last week at least made sense, the news that Barcelona are planning to sign the left back are rather strange indeed on the fac of it.
However, if you dig a bit deeper, it sort of makes sense.
La Liga leaders Barcelona need backup for Jordi Alba, they need more Spanish players and, if you believe what you hear or read, they're going to blow massive amounts on a new and new midfielder this summer. So a free transfer for a young Spanish left back who'd shown flashes of quality (albeit, sparingly) makes sense.
For Alberto, it's a move that would be impossible to turn down. The report comes from Spanish publication Sport, who feature De Ligt, Jovic and Moreno as Barcelona's three main summer signings.
