Barca manager: Liverpool are a very powerful opponent
It's billed as the big one, in this season's Champions League: Barcelona vs Liverpool; the competitions 2 favourites going head to head.
It's also largely accepted that whoever wins that 2-legged tie will no doubt be favourites in the final and more than likely be expected to win this season's competition.
But while Barcelona are flying in their own domestic league and probably a couple of games from putting another league title in their trophy cabinet, the Reds are still fighting it out with Man City so the tie will come at a rough time for Jurgen's lads.
The Barcelona manager is still incredibly wary of Liverpool though, and comments earlier in the competition revealed that the Reds were the side that Barca had wanted to avoid.
And speaking prior to their match this weekend, Barca boss Valverde said: "Liverpool are a very powerful opponent. Offensive players have been showing their potential in the last two years.
"Last year they reached the final. This time they're having a great tournament. They are also fighting in the Premier League.
"It's a very attractive game for them, for us and for the public. It will be very hard, for them and for us.
"The final is just there and we'll give our best to reach it."
Whilst they currently hold a 6 point lead over Atletico Madrid, the Catalan club will most likely have their domestic title wrapped up by the time the first leg is played in just over 10 day's time. We may also know a little bit more about the Reds league situation by then!
