Andy Robbo: Henderson is definitely Player of the Year
Asking rival fans - and some pundits - who their Player of the Year is, does not usually draw the answer 'Jordan Henderson' from them.
In fact, the mere suggestion from rivals in recent weeks that Henderson was now the favourite, and rightly so, has brought derision and ire by the spadeful.
The fact is, he's the captain of the best team in the country, who are leading the Premier League by a massive, record-breaking 22 points at the mid-point of February.
But if you ask any Liverpool fan, even the ones that hadn't always rated Hendo admit that it's hard to put an argument forward against him.
One person who isn't in any doubt though, is his team mate, Andy Robertson. The Scotland captain thinks that the midfielder has been the best player this season and believes that he isn't appreciated in the Premier League.
He told Sky Sports News: "For me, I think he's the leading candidate [for player of the year].
"At times this season when we've struggled Hendo has been the one that has driven us forward.
"He's the one who has made sure we don't get slack, or he has chipped in with some really important goals or really important assists.
"Maybe his performances at the start of the season went a little bit under the radar, but as the season has progressed he's not really had a bad game.
"You really appreciate him when you train with him every day and in this country he's not been appreciated enough in his character.
"He's getting the recognition he deserves because he is a fantastic player, a fantastic role model and a fantastic captain. He's driven us to three points at times this season when we've struggled."
