An incredible seven Liverpool players nominated for the Ballon d'Or
We'll leave finding out whether it's a record (sure it isn't, considering Real Madrid won three Champions Leagues in a row), but Liverpool have had 7 players nominated for the Ballon d'Or this year.
It's an incredible feat, considering that barely 2 years ago we were entering a new season expected to struggle to finish in the top 4.
But 24 months later we're 2 times Champions League finalists, 1 times winners and runners up in the Premier League and currently 6 points clear at the top with 9 games played.
It's a remarkable achievement by Jurgen and the players, and every one of those nominated deserves it thoroughly. The only problem we have is that players like Andy Robertson, Joel Matip and Fabinho should've been included as well.
As it is, the players nominated from Liverpool are: Alisson Becker, Virgil Van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Gini Wijnaldum, Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino.
French Football are still currently drawing the nominations out as much as possible so we'll update later. The full list of the nominees are:
