Adrian not happy with his saves after LFC loss
The stats from last night's game show a fairly even game, with the away side having the better possession, chances and a number of other stats.
Amazingly, both sides had over 84% pass completion, which is quite remarkable for a game that saw both sides needlessly squander possession repeatedly.
But the important stat to note is 2-0 to Napoli. In the end, that's all that matters. And that is the case for Reds' keeper Adrian.
The Spanish backup goalie made a handful of outstanding saves to keep his side in it, with a particular standout in the second half. He even almost saved the penalty.
It doesn't matter for the 32 year old though, as he told Liverpoolfc.com: "It’s my job as a goalkeeper, to try to save all the balls as much as I can and to try to help the team.
"I gave my best, I tried hard. But at the end of the day we lost 2-0, so I can’t be happy.
"We knew it was going to be a hard game for us, like last season was. At the end of the game it was small details; the penalty switched the game for them totally and then we lost a bit of shape and conceded the second one."
